The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has caused trade disruptions; a drop in foreign direct investment; and scarring effects on poverty, education, and women in many nations. However, it has also beneficial features. Asia has continued to produce and export during the pandemic. COVID-19 has boosted digitalisation, notably in information and communication technology (ICT). The adoption of ICT has boosted economic growth. As drastic transformation of business models due to such digitalisation, it is expected that distinguished businesses like e-commerce will be or are appearing.
Considering these social backgrounds, a branding strategy by utilizing IPR such as trademarks and designs is also crucial, so as to distinguish excellent goods and businesses from others appropriately. it will connect them to investment and industrial development in the country.
In this context, IPR including trademarks, and designs is a key to producing innovative and distinguished businesses from Cambodia.
Under the circumstance, MoC, JPO and ERIA have reached an understanding to need to strengthen technical cooperation on research in the field of IPR.
This ceremony will be held for the purpose of confirming mutual understanding and cooperations among MoC, JPO, and ERIA.
Further, IPR seminar will be held to utilize this opportunity of MOCs among MoC, MISTI, JPO, and ERIA for the purpose of enhancing the awareness of IPR in Cambodia.
