ERIA's Prof Shujiro Urata Appointed as the Chairman of RIETI

Jakarta, 1 February 2023: Prof Shujiro Urata, Senior Research Advisor to the President of ERIA, has been appointed as the Chairman of RIETI (Research Institute of Economy, Trade, and Industry) as of January 2023.

RIETI is a policy think tank established in 2001. Its mission is to conduct theoretical and empirical research, maximize synergies with those engaged in policymaking, and make policy proposals based on evidence derived from such research activities. The institute is highly regarded both in Japan and abroad for its activity.

ERIA congratulates Prof Urata and wishes him the best for his services to RIETI.
