Meeting on Investment Issues in Indonesia's ASEAN Chairmanship 2023

Jakarta, 9 March 2023: Indonesia’s Ministry of Investment held a discussion meeting on investment issues under Indonesia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2023 at their Jakarta office. Dr Riyatno, Deputy for Investment Coordination of the Ministry of Investment, opened the meeting.

Three key speakers shared insights on investment issues. Dr Lili Yan Ing, Lead Advisor for Southeast Asia Region at the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia, discussed investments for sustainable development and inclusive growth, specifically  highlighting the fiscal triple wins and the need for increased environmental, social, and governance investments in Eastern Indonesia. Dr Yulius Purwadi Hermawan from Parahyangan University then discussed investment preparations for the ASEAN Guidelines on Sustainable Investment, with focus on investments in electric vehicles and renewable energy. Prof Tirta Nugraha Mursitama, Member of the Advisory Board to the Minister of Investment, elaborated on investment issues, the role of the state in investment areas, and the pillars of Indonesia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2023.

The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer session covering various topics, such as market opportunities for electric vehicles, sustainable investment issues, working group meetings on Indonesia investment issues, and Indonesia’s guidelines for sustainable investment. Dr Riyatno closed the meeting.
